A design that combines the warmth of Hafferty's proprietary chocolate oak joinery with the drama of back-lit marble, bronze tinted glass and a uniquely conceived hanging back bar — a commission so considered and so individual that nothing quite like it exists anywhere else.
The defining feature of this Wilmslow commission is a bespoke hanging back bar suspended from the ceiling — a floating gantry of extraordinary visual impact that immediately separates this fitted home bar from any other residential installation. Toughened glass shelving hangs within a framework of chocolate oak and antique bronze, the entire assembly lit from above and below by warm LED smart lighting.
Behind the gantry, made-to-measure antique bronze mirror work adds depth and warmth — every reflection drawing the eye further into the design, making the space feel both larger and more intimate simultaneously. It is a piece of theatre as much as joinery.
The back-lit marble panel is the heart of this Wilmslow home bar — natural stone of exceptional beauty, illuminated from behind so that its veining glows with a warm amber light. Paired with full-length quartz worktops engineered for both beauty and longevity, the material palette was chosen to age gracefully and improve in character over decades of use.
The Hafferty bespoke chocolate oak stain — developed and refined in our Manchester factory — produces a rich, deep tone that is entirely proprietary to Hafferty Interiors. Applied by hand and built up in multiple coats, it gives the cabinetry a depth of colour that cannot be replicated from a standard specification. Bronze tinted glass and bronze textured feature cabinetry complete a material story of extraordinary coherence.
The warm LED smart lighting system was designed as an integral part of this Wilmslow home bar commission — not an afterthought. Fully programmable scenes allow the bar to shift from bright and vibrant for entertaining to soft and intimate for a quieter evening, all at the touch of a button or a voice command.
Integrated drawer refrigeration units are concealed seamlessly within the lower cabinetry, keeping wines, beers and mixers perfectly chilled without a single appliance visible from the front of the bar. The result is a fitted home bar as complete and resolved at midnight as it is at noon.
