The entrance reception at their Worsley, Manchester offices needed to communicate exactly that — the quiet confidence of an organisation that has nothing to prove and everything to offer. The entrance walls are lined with full-height painted panelling in a distinctive sage green — moulded profiles and raised panel details giving the space a sense of architectural permanence that immediately communicates the age and solidity of the organisation behind it. This is not a rented office fitted out on a budget; it is the home of a firm that has been in continuous operation for more than fifty years.
Between the panel layers, warm amber LED lighting glows with a precision that transforms the panelling from a wall covering into a feature of genuine character. The centrepiece of the entrance is a natural oak vertical slat feature wall — its warm grain and rhythmic vertical lines providing a beautiful material counterpoint to the painted panelling. Bespoke display shelving is integrated directly into the slat wall, housing Collinson Grant's publications and branded materials — presenting the firm's fifty-year body of work with exactly the kind of quiet confidence the company itself embodies.
A built-in planting trough at the base of the feature wall introduces natural greenery into the space — a considered detail that softens the entrance and reinforces its human quality. The overall composition is one of warmth and welcome: a reception that greets every visitor, employee and potential client with a clear and confident sense of who Collinson Grant are and what they stand for.
Every element of the Collinson Grant reception was made to the precise dimensions of the space — panelling scripted to the ceiling line, slat wall calibrated to the centimetre, shelving engineered to carry the exact weight of the materials it would display.
