A complete living room transformation in a period property — dark painted traditional wall panelling covering every surface, with hand-finished copper and bronze metallic insets set within each moulded frame. Every electrical socket and detail integrated seamlessly into the scheme. The result is a room that feels both historically considered and unmistakably contemporary.
Floor-to-ceiling traditional panel moulding, hand-painted in deep charcoal, with individual copper and bronze metallic insets set within each frame. Every panel sized and positioned to balance the room perfectly — from full-height picture panels above the dado to smaller inset details below.
The copper insets are not simply decorative. They echo the warmth of the natural stone fireplace opposite, creating a material conversation that runs the full length of the room. Warm LED strip lighting, concealed at the cornice and at dado rail level, washes down the panelling at dusk and transforms the mood of the space entirely.
A natural stacked stone fireplace surround — warm amber and cream tones against the deep dark panelling — anchors the room and creates the focal point the entire scheme orbits around.
The contrast is deliberate. Raw natural stone against precision-crafted painted joinery. Warm tactile texture against a cool flat matte. It is a pairing that gives the room its character and ensures the panelling never feels heavy — the stone keeps it alive.
